Features

  • The specially designed kinematical mechanism secures the damper blade at the end positions “open” and “close” by means of special toggle levers in case of a failure of energy support.
  • Two concentric sealing rings fixed to the damper seat create high tightness as well as a test groove in the gap between the two sealing rings. In order to test the leak free seat of the damper blade the test groove can be connected to an appropriate seal test device via a fast acting coupling from outside the damper.
  • To protect the sealing the damper blade starts the opening process with a linear movement. This movement is created by a special lever system, so first the damper runs parallel and after reaching a certain distance the movement turns automatically into a rotating motion. This mechanism avoids transverse loading force to the
    damper sealing.
  • Double shaft transition sealing. Connections to test tightness of shaft transition during operation available on demand.

Description        :

Connols-Air MS Series square and rectangular louvre diffuser is a multi-pattern diffuser and, as such, provides 1-way, 2-way, 2-way corner, 3-way and 4-way horizontal air distribution. It is designed for installation with and with ceiling height of 2.5 m to 3.5 m. Without ceiling, this diffuser may be installed at higher level to 4.5 m; due to lack of coanda effect, the primary air drop quickly and does not cover sufficient throw. Care must be taken in the diffuser layout to ensure that its throw is sufficient to cover the required space.

The diffuser is made of high quality extruded aluminum and designed to ensure blade rigidity and minimize airflow generated noised. Centre core of the diffuser may be easily removed for cleaning without special tool.

As a standard diffuser is supplied with round inlet adaptor for connection to flexible duct the adaptor inlet air velocity is limited to 2.5m/s. Diffuser may be supplied with acoustic plenum for better noise control; with acoustic plenum air distribution is uniform and air inlet velocity is limited to 5 m/s.

The diffuser is available in standard powder coated baked white enamel RAL 9010. Other finishes are available upon request.

VAV system with VAV box is able to save significant amount of energy due partly to the box’s ability to operate at high turndown ratio thereby saving on cooling and fan energy. However, the VAV box cannot do it alone. VAV box provides the minimum airflow required to maintaining the desired room temperature, however, selection of the right type of diffuser is necessary to maintain proper air distribution leading to uniformity in room temperature and air velocity and, therefore, comfort. SWL 50 diffuser is able to provide horizontal air throw without dumping for airflow down to 50 per cent of its design maximum airflow.

The diffuser is designed for installation on inverted tee bar ceiling or surface mounted to plaster ceiling. Alternative face edge design is available for installation on inverted tee bar ceiling with 6 mm step-down at the edges to match similar feature on ceiling panel.

All supply air diffusers are supplied with circular adaptor with top inlet for connection to flexible duct. Each adaptor includes a dual-purpose circular disc balancing damper and equalizer for minor throttling and uniform air distribution.

The dual-purpose disc is easily adjusted for airflow balancing through the diffuser face from the room side. Alternatively the diffuser may be supplied with circular plenum internally insulated with acoustic foam for absorption of noise from upstream devices such as the VAV box and balancing damper.

Connols-Air Model TS, TD, TSA, TSR light troffer air diffuser is a rectangular/square integrated air-light fixture designed to achieve good room air distribution and low operating noise.  It is available in single-sided and double-sided versions and in 600 mm and 1200 mm lengths.  Double-sided diffuser is constructed of two supply air boots one on each side of the light and connected with a bridge plenum.  Single-sided diffuser is constructed of one supply air boot mounted on either side of the light; other side of the light may be installed with or without air boot for returning air. 

All air boots and bridge plenum are constructed of galvanized steel and are acoustically treated with fire retardant acoustic foam that can effectively attenuate upstream damper and duct Bourne noise.  Each supply air boot may be equipped with a fixed nozzle that is designed to give fix horizontal air throw pattern, either one-way or two-way opposing flow that must be pre-selected, fixed in the factory and not adjustable onsite.  With fixed nozzle, the double or single-sided is equipped with a balancing damper at the inlet spigot which is fixed on the bridge plenum or air boot for either top or side air entry respectively.

Description        :

Connols-Air Model P and PM perforated diffuser is constructed of square/rectangular steel perforated face with a round adjustable disc hidden behind that achieve uniform 360° distribution. The disc acts as damper for throttling of air volume.  The design of the perforated diffuser provides horizontal air distribution even when it is mounted without ceiling.  It is designed for installation with and without ceiling at height of 2.5 m to 3.5 m.  The diffuser is commonly installed surface-mounted on plaster ceiling and inverted Tee-bar ceiling system. With inverted Tee-bar ceiling, the diffuser is available with overall size of 594 X 594 mm or 1194 X 594 mm for lay-on the Tee bar of grid size 600 X 600 mm or 1200 X 600 mm.  The perforated diffuser inlet size ranges from 150 to 350 mm to handle airflow ranging from 200 CMH (56 l/s) to 865 CMH (240 l/s).  Installation on other ceiling is possible, please consult our factory. 

For perforated diffuser connected to flexible duct, a straight duct length of 2 equivalent diameters is recommended before the connection.  Perforated diffuser may be supplied with engineered plenum to ensure uniform air distribution.  The engineered plenum may be supplied with an inlet damper, equalizer and fire retardant acoustic foam to reduce upstream noise.  As a standard, the engineered plenum is supplied with different inlet spigot ranging from 150 to 200 mm and can handle air flow ranging from 100 CMH to 450 CMH (125 l/s). 

The perforated diffuser face is attached to the aluminium frame with spring clips and is easily removed for cleaning without special tool. The diffuser is available in standard powder coated baked white enamel RAL 9010.  Other finishes are available upon request.
